5 Resolutions Everyone Should Strive For

So, you made it through the first week of the new year!!! How are your new year's resolutions coming along? Do you make resolutions? Personally, I commit to personal goals and a list of things I'd like to accomplish over the next 365 days.

Whether its saving, eating healthier or just growing a little bit each day, the new year gives us all something to look forward to and a blank slate to see what you can do in 12 months. If you need some help coming up with goals, or if you’re looking for a ‘spin’ on some of the traditional resolutions, check these out below.

1.) Resolve to not just get out of debt but become FINANCIALLY FIT! It’s so easy to focus on losing weight and shedding the pounds, but shedding debt is just as important. This includes, setting a budget and sticking to it, stashing some cash for a rainy day, and working on repairing your credit if needed.

2.) Resolve to be positive. This is a simple concept but is REALLY difficult to put in practice. However, the benefits are ENDLESS. It could change your outlook on life and make you a better person by just striving to see the good in everything and every situation. Life varies for each person and a lot of it depends on the lens they use to view the world.

3.) Resolve to be a healthier YOU. Enough said – Eat better, move more, drink more water, and just stay active!

4.) Learn to invest….. in yourself! For many of us (especially women) we often put ourselves last and try to help everyone else around us first. This is really the opposite of how we SHOULD operate. Although this is a generous philosophy, if we do not take the time to pour back into ourselves it is difficult for us to be FULL enough to give back to others. Get a massage, go on a trip, do whatever you need to do to rejuvenate yourself occasionally!

5.) Volunteer and give more to charity It costs nothing to devote some of your time and energy to helping those in need and it feels SOOOOO good. Volunteering should be done regularly. It’s a great way to meet new people and it’s a reminder to be grateful for your life because your life may be a dream compared to others who are less fortunate.

You have any resolutions you’d like to add to the list? Drop them in the comments below. I would love to hear them!
